Hand Lettering
DAY 11#LETTERYOURGRATITUDE
November 14, 2015 - Hand Lettering
Today’s Letter Your Gratitude prompt was a challenge we’ve encountered. Ah, too many hurdles to name, yeah?
The twist is that this month we’re lettering about gratitude… the plot thickens.Trying to come up with a challenge that I am grateful for took a little extra brainpower. I came up with a few options, adversities that I’ve overcome and made me a better person, yadda, yadda ;).
I settled on multipotentiality. It’s a thing, I promise.Basically, multipotentialites are Jacks and James of all trades, polymaths, Renaissance people; we have a multitude of interests, aptitudes, and talents (as opposed to specialists, whose interest are contained to a single area). I know, I know, cry me a river; Karli’s good at everything (except math. F math.), boohoo. But seriously, I am almost certain that my life would be a whole lot easier if I had just one major area of interest, one hobby, one talent, one expertise. I envy people who always knew what they wanted to be. They had a goal, achieved it, and then fine tuned it. Blamo! Career satisfaction.
And me? Just floating around in the ether, in my mid-30s, dreaming about what I want to be when I grow up.While it is a stressful challenge, it’s one I am still grateful for. It makes me who I am. It’s not a challenge to be overcome, rather one I need to come to terms with and find a way to integrate better into my life and work.
